Rules, Rewards, and Consequences

Classroom Rules (taken from

1)  Follow directions quickly.

 2)  Raise your hand for permission to speak.

 3)  Raise your hand for permission to leave your seat.

 4) Make smart choices.
5) Keep your dear teacher happy.

Diamond Rule...Keep your eyes on the target.
Golden Rule...Treat others the way that you would like to be treated.

 During the first week of school, we will review classroom procedures to help us understand these rules. Our class mission statement is…All working together to become our very best!

 We are using Class Dojo as a means of communication with parents. Feel free to send us a Dojo message to communicate with us. 

Rewards - We use punch cards for positive behavior. A punch card has space for 20 punches. Students get punches for various positive behaviors. When the punch card is filled up, students choose a reward they would like to receive.  Reward choices include show and tell, draw with magic markers, decorate with stickers, bring a stuffed animal to school, bring a hat to school, choose a GoNoodle, play with puzzles, sit in the Red Chair, and Squeeze the Pig. We have Punch Card Reward Time on Friday afternoons. 

Consequences – For misbehavior, students receive warnings first. After three warnings, students receive a yellow light. If misbehavior continues, students will receive a red light. Homework folders/behavior color for the day should be signed each night. Yellow and red lights may result in time outs at recess, time outs in another classroom, or parent contacts.
